Opinions of the teachers and the students about education applications on the constructivist approach in two- dimension art shop class (Ordu High School of Fine Arts and Sports case)

Societies need individuals who are thinking, asking, renewing, and are aware of their responsibilities instead of accepting everything. Herein, the mission falls to Education Intuitions and the education programs need to be prepared in this way. Concordantly, learning how to think rationally and creatively is the starting point of restructuring in education.However, the education of art, in fact, is a unique of multi ways concerning the multiplication of intelligence thinking processes. Bringing up the individuals who research, create, commend and have improved aesthetic knowledge is also available by giving necessary importance to the art education.Fine Arts and Sports High Schools in our country are the schools which aim to give education on this direction. The lesson of two-dimension art shop is one of the important lessons in its field in accordance with creative behaviors, developing free and peculiar thinking can be used in every field. The program of the lesson has been applied based on student-centered and constructivist approach since 2006-2007 education years.Main target of this research is to bring up the thoughts of the teachers and the students about the education application based on structural approach in two-dimension art shop lesson. To reach this target the research has been done by quality research method.Research has been done by search method in Ordu Fine Arts and Sports High School in 2009-2010 education years. In the research 6 art teachers working in this school and 20 art field students were interviewed. When preparing the interview questions how the two-dimension art shop lesson is applied according to the constructivist approach was targeted. When analyzing the research datum, the descriptive analysis technique was used.According to the findings obtained at the end of the research; Majority of the teachers and students who were interviewed consider the two-dimension art shop lesson as an important lesson and we concluded that they also have positive opinions about the applications of the lesson?s constructivist approach. Besides, it was observed that the majority of the teachers and students used expressions, which give the opinion of the lesson, has been processed with the applications based on constructivist approach. Nevertheless, it was determined that teachers have had the same problems while they have been applying the two-dimension art shop lesson based on constructivist approach. Some of these problems are; the teachers hadn?t been trained based on the constructivist approach, the students attend the class without any preparation, teachers can not activate the students, student books were obtained too late, teachers are not equipped well, lack of time.Besides, the teachers stated their opinions about how the two-dimension art shop lesson can be applied more effectively based on constructivist approach.
