Abstract (EN)
The aim of this clinical study was to assess the efficiency of two in-office bleaching agents, the longevity of their effectiveness the safety for 12 months. 28 volunteers aged between 13-18, randomly divided into two groups. G1(n:14): Zoom2 25 % HP in-office bleaching gel (Discus Dental, USA) and G2 (n:14): Beaming White 36% HP in-office bleaching gel (Beaming White, USA) in a 3?15 minutes single visit treatment procedure. The color assessment was made; before bleaching; after bleaching; 48 hours; 1, 6 and 12 months later with a spectrophometry (Vita EasyShade Compact, Vita Zahnfabrik, Germany). Results were analyzed statistically, by Wilcoxon Signed Ranks test, Mann Whitney U and Student?s t test. There was no statistically significant difference between two groups when compared for L* values at the end of the treatment, 48th hour, 6th and 12th month. However, L* values were statistically significantly higher in Zoom2 group at the end of the first month. b* values, after treatment, at 48th hour and at first month, did not reach a statistically significant difference. However, b* values in Zoom2 group were lower at 6th and 12th months of the treatment. During the follow up period, the difference between a* values, Vita scores performed by spectrophotometer and ?E values did not reach a statistical significance. The improvement in colour persisted for 12 months in both groups. Study results indicated that both agents improved the esthetics successfully.
