Abstract (EN)

Today, implant therapy has an important place both in the literature and clinics for the solution of tooth loss. The compulsory procedures of this treatment can has adverse effects on osteointegration. Cooling systems are protecting factors both to avoid thermal trauma and to improve the implant survival. In our study, it was aimed to investigate the heat on the bone caused by drills of same trade mark with two different diameters at two different dephts and with two different cooling systems in-vitro. Fresh boven femur bone was used. Drilling was performed for one minute. In order to measure the heat during drilling termocouple sensors of K type were used by inserting into the bone. The heat measurements were recorded as the drills achieved the aimed depht. Eight groups were planned and 30 procedures were repeated for each group; at the end totally 240 procedures were done. The data was analyzed statistically. As a result, there was significance difference between the cooling systems and the chosen diameters in our study statistically. The most significant difference has been recorded between two cooling systems at the depht of 14 mm of drilling (p=0,001). As a conclusion, with the data in our study; it was observed that the combined cooling system was more effective than the external cooling system alone as the drilling depth was getting higher. However we think that more detailed examinations will be useful.
