Abstract (EN)
The Second World War was the greatest and most destructive war in human history, which constituted the consequences of the First World War and the causes of the Cold War. This process, in which societies, ideologies and states were reshaped in the middle of the XXth century, brought with it a new world order. With this order, democracies have been strengthened in the world, liberal ideas have come to the fore, and international policies developing from local to global have been the determining factor in the internal and external dynamics of all nations. The aim of this study is to examine the effects of the Second World War on Turkish politics and society and to shed light on the dark and unexplained points of the subject. It has been found that Turkiye was strongly affected by the war in political and social terms and that these effects shaped Turkiye's future. In the study, the political, economic and social effects of the atmosphere created by Second World War on Turkiye and the world were examined by using historical documents, academic studies, memories and research, and the geopolitical aims of the Axis and Allied powers on the world and Turkiye were revealed. In this way, it was aimed to consider the war process as a whole and to reach a conclusion by evaluating it with all its aspects.
