Comparative analysis of employment strategies and European Union employment strategies from 1990 to present present in the framework of economic theory

The concept of unemployment emerged after the World economic crisis of 1929 and it has become a major challenge in many developed and developing countries. The economic, cultural and political situations of countries, their struggles and the challenges they face vary from country to country. These differences lead countries to create their own employment policies and take the necessary measures. In this study, unemployment rate realized in the years from 1990 until the present and the factors that cause this rate, Turkey and the European Union will be examined with distinction. Firstly, basic information about the concepts of unemployment and employment were included in the study, and labor market characteristics were investigated in Turkey. Thereafter, a comparison of employment policies in Turkey and the European Union was conducted. This issue is also included because youth unemployment has a large share in the world. Lately, the classification according to the structure of unemployment in Turkey and European Union countries were compared in the form of numeric tables, and the main variables affecting the unemployment rate in Turkey has been tested with econometric analysis methods. The results were interpreted in the conclusion. The purposes of this study are comparing Turkey's unemployment structure and the factors that cause it with EU countries, and showing the problem of unemployment is not an obstacle for Turkey and it is possible to overcome this problem with appropriate policies for employment. For this purpose, with employment policies that are being implemented in Turkey it will be compared to the EU employment policies and their compliance with the EU will be analyzed.
