For the treatment of the breathing problems, 21 % were undertaking oxygen cure. There was a meaningful difference statistically between the sleeping proficiency point averages of the patients using oxygen cure for breathing problems and patients not using it (p<0.05).Pain and sleeping levels of the patients were evaluated with VAS; pain point average was found to be 4.6±3.5, and sleeping point average was found to be 3.8±2.4. There was a middle level relation between them in negative direction (r:-42, p:.000). For 28 % of the patients opoid drugs were used and it was found that sleeping proficiency points of the patients using opoid drugs were decreasing (p<0.05).77 % of the patients were having adverse affects due to KT and RT cures they were undergoing; and a meaningful statistical difference was found between the sleeping proficiency point averages of the patients having vomiting, fatigue / weariness (p<0.05).Conclusion: Sleeping has an important role among the problems often encountered by the patients having diagnosed with lung cancer. It is known that sleeping problems negatively affect the treatment and disease process. For this reason, factors affecting the sleeping quality in the lung cancer shall be determined and these factors shall be overcome.Key words: Advanced stage lung cancer, sleeping quality, factors affecting the sleep.
