Investigation of some anatomic characteristics of goat willow in Ilgaz Mountain

In this study, some silvicultural characteristics, leaf characteristics and distribution of goat willow (Salix caprea L.) spreading at various elevation steps on the northern slope of Ilgaz Mountain were investigated. A total of 144 trees were measured in the study area and electron microscopy images of the leaf samples were also evaluated. In addition, some parameters such as tree diameter, height, crown projection area in different elevations were evaluated and recommendations were made. Particularly in the subalpine elevation step where extreme habitat conditions exist, it is understood that the distribution of goat willow should be increased in terms of biodiversity.
