Abstract (EN)
This research aims to detect the effects of using virtual manipulatives on student's achievement when teaching fractions which one is a lower learning area in primary class mathematic cirruculum. The research sample contains 76 student who are studying on class of a school in the city centre of Erzincan. The pre-test-past-test control group model was used in this study. Sample consisting of two experimental and one control group is aimed to determine the effective using way of virtual manipulatives. Application for all groups continued for 12 hours/3 weeks. During application for the first experimental group virtual manipulatives were used only by teacher. In the second experimental group virtual manipulatives were used by students with the guidance of teacher. In control group lessons are lectured with concrete materials. In this study as measurement tool, Fractions Achievement Test which was developed by researcher is used for two times as pre and post test. The obtained results were analyzed by using SPSS-17 package program. t-test, ANOVA, ANCOVA and regression coefficent statistics were used to analyze the data. According to the statistical data obtained from the research . using of virtual manipulatives when teaching fractions shows a significant difference in favor of the experimental group which is used virtual manipulatives only by teacher.
