Abstract (EN)

The fundamental goal of this research is; ?defining the opinions of the students from first level primary education on typographic characteristics of narrative books.?For reaching this main goal, according to the students, the following questions are answered; ?In terms of typographic characteristic, how must be the paper type, book size, letter size, letter style, letter character, spacing, margins, article color of the narrative books which are prepared for children?? and ?Which typographic types of books the students tend to read and understand more quickly. What are the opinions about this topic??A questioner which is developed by the researcher is used for collecting data. This questioner is applied at random to 100 students from fourth and the fifth class in Narlıdere region of Izmir to the school named as İnönü İlköğretim Okulu in 2007-2008. In order to develop the researchers? survey each data collected from the students is analyzed and based on a diagram in order the find the frequency (f) and the percentage (%).As a result; typographic characteristics of the narrative books which will be prepared must be presented in a whole way, concerning the developmental characteristics of the children by the typography experts and also keeping esthetical values altogether. The methods used by publishers of developing countries must be followed, any expenses shouldn?t be abstained, the expectations of children must be provided.
