Abstract (EN)
This study examines suitability of communicative approach of 2018 English Language Teaching Curriculum (2nd and 8th graders) in terms of aims/outcomes, content, teaching-learning process and assesment. The research design of the study was a multiple case-embedded study. Fourteen primary education English teachers are participants of this study. Data was gathered through document analysis and semi-structured teacher interviews. Descriptive and content analysis were used in analysis of data. The research findings reveal that almost all of aims/outcomes and content of new curriculum are suitable for communicative approach. As for the teaching-learning process, teachers face with a lot of challenges in practice of communicative approach. Moreover, almost all of course book acitivities are also suitable for communicative approach.
