The study of relationship between peer bullying and anxiety sensitivity among the primary school students

The main purpose of this study is to search the relationship between peer bullying and anxiety sensitivity at primary school children. Moreover it was also searched whether the anxiety sensitivity and peer bullying levels of primary school children differ according to socio-demographic characteristics. The research was conducted on 365 students,193 females and 172 males, selected by easily accessible sampling method among 3rd and 4th grade students of those whom attend a primary schools in Çukurova, Seyhan, Yüreğir and Sarıçam central districts of Adana province in the 2020-2021 academic term. Since it is based on examining the relationship of different variables with each other, the relational screening method was used. Peer Bullying Scale, Child Form and Anxiety Sensitivity Index for Children (CASI) and Personal Information Form prepared by the researcher were used as data collection methodology in the study. In the analysis of research data; GPower 3.1 program and IBM SPSS 25 statistical package program were used for power analysis. In the analysis of the data, frequency (f), percentage (%), t test for unrelated sample, Pearson correlation coefficient and standard regression analysis were used depending on the variables. According to the results of the study, it was seen detected that the gender of the victim and the holiday variables were the predictors of physical anxiety sensitivity, but the bully variable did not have a predictive effect. Furthermore victim and the levels of father education were found to be significant predictors of cognitive anxiety. It was seen that the number of internet access devices had a predictive effect on social anxiety, and it was seen that the variables of victim and bully did not have the same effect.
