Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the governance levels of primary schools according to the opinions of primary school administrators and teachers. In this research, descriptive quantitative research method was used. The population of the study consisted of 3536 teachers and 153 school administrators working in 116 public primary schools in Şahinbey district of Gaziantep. The sample of the study consisted of 50 administrators and 530 teachers working in 24 primary schools which were selected according to simple random sampling method in 2017-2018 academic year. The data of the study was collected with the Governance Scale in Educational Organizations developed by Aslan (2016). In the analysis of the data, "arithmetic mean", "standard deviation den; "t-test", "one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA)" and "Post Hoc multiple comparisons test were used. With the obtained data, it was tested whether the evaluations of teachers and administrators participating in the research differ according to the variables of gender, professional seniority and union membership. According to the findings obtained within the scope of the study, there are significant differences in scale-wide and sub-dimensions according to some of the demographic characteristics. According to the opinions of administrators and teachers, the level of governance of primary schools is high. The opinions of the administrators on the governance levels of the primary schools are higher than those of the teachers.
