Abstract (EN)

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is revolutionizing industries worldwide, reshaping workforce dynamics and raising concerns about job displacement, evolving skill requirements, and economic implications. This study investigates the impact of AI on the workforce, comparing perspectives from Tanzania and Türkiye. Through a survey of 506 respondents, the research examines workforce concerns regarding AI-driven job automation, skill adaptation, and employment stability. Using descriptive statistics, frequency distributions, and Chi-square analysis, the findings reveal that a significant proportion of respondents express concern over AI's influence on job security, with variations between the two countries. Tanzanian respondents exhibited higher levels of concern regarding job displacement and economic insecurity compared to their Turkish counterparts. Additionally, the study finds that while AI is expected to eliminate routine jobs, it also creates new opportunities, particularly for those equipped with advanced technological skills. The study contributes to the ongoing discourse on AI's workforce transformation by identifying key trends in labor market adaptation and proposing actionable recommendations for businesses, policymakers, and educators. These include the need for workforce reskilling initiatives, ethical AI governance frameworks, and proactive government policies to mitigate AI-driven employment risks. Ultimately, this research underscores the urgency of strategic workforce planning to ensure equitable economic transitions in an AI-driven era.
