Abstract (EN)
In this study, a comparative analysis of thin-walled aluminum tubes with different geometries used to absorb the energy from collisions in the front chassis of the vehicles was made. In order to see the energy absorbed by aluminum tubes with different geometries, a compression test with experimental method and a simulation from the Abaqus program, which is one of the analysis program, were made with the theoretical method. The amount of energy absorbed by aluminum tubes with different geometries was calculated by using the graphs created from the test results with the experimental method and the graphs obtained as a result of the theoretical experiments. The finite element method was used in the simulations. Real and simulated graphs were compared with each other, and suggestions were made for vehicles to absorb more energy during an accident.
