Abstract (EN)
Rotary motion encoders are widely used in electronic designs of industrial automation systems, in many fields such as chemical production, aviation and defense industry. In thıs thesis study; Working principles and types of optical encoders used for angular position and velocity measurement from rotary motion encoders have been examined. Optical encoders, which are examined under two headings as incremental and absolute, differ from each other in terms of obtaining position information especially after cost and power failure, and because it's less costly than absolute encoders, incremental encoder is operated in absolute logic, making it a good price – performance product has been made into. In this Project; By integrating a microprocessor and an external battery into the incremental encoder, the position is kept in the memory continuously, and a system design has been developed that aims to show the actual positions of the mechanisms with the PID control algorithm, without the need for various calculations.
