Determination of marital adjustment of couples treated for infertility

The research has been conducted fractionally with the aim of the determination the factors, which affect marital accordance of couples who have treatment infertility. Out of 300 couples applying to the Gaziantep Cengiz Gökçek Gynecology and Obstetrics Hospital Infertility and IVF center, the number of the couples, who have been evaluated as the specimen, is calculated by 177 couples. As the data collecting method with the "Questionnaire form" and "Marital Adjustment Test (MAT)" have been utilized. The MAT have been conducted with the questionnaire form between the dates of 15 July - 01 October 2017. The result data from the survey have been evaluated via the computer program "SPSS for Windows 20" (Statistical Package for Social Sciences) with the calculations of average, median, standard deviation, percentage numbers with minimum and maximum values, t-test, Oneway Anova Test, Mann Whitney U Test, Kruskall Wallis Test. Meaningful differences was obtained between the mean and median points of MATandage of marriage, duration of failure of achieve pregnancy after unprotected sex, duration of infertility diagnosis, duration infertility treatment of women; age, job, duration of infertility diagnosis, duration infertility treatment and number of tried IVF of men; duration of infertility diagnosis, duration infertility treatment and number of tried treatment of couples (p˂0.05). Additionaly it was found that mean scores of MAT (women: 44.35, men:43.50 couples:43.92) was high. Key words: İnfertility, infertility treatment, couples, marital adjustment, marital adjustment test.
