Strategic importance of information technologies during desicion making process in construction industry

In Turkey, usage of Information Technologies became more common at last years. Because of great and complex structure of instruction firms force the firms to use information effectively for sustainabilty during decision making process. Today, using of Information Technologies that may ensure not to be back from competitors, can not be a competitive advantage. But most of the Information Technologies imported from the foreign countries, causes occasionally integration problems.Construction Information Technologies is a subject that rarely get place in the scientific studies. In this thesis, the meaning of IT is for Construction Industry and during decision making process what roles effectively usage of IT are looked. Instruction firms that are in İzmir, are examined in the study. Especially management level of the firms? opinions in this topic and the relation between usage of IT and the firms structure are examined. In this direction a survey which determines importance of usage IT during the decision making process for Construction firms are in İzmir, is made and results are discussed.
