Abstract (EN)

Murray and Maslow, who researched the concept of needs, seperated needs into two parts, biological and psychological. Psycological needs which wanted to be achieved by individuals, such as being accepted, showing up, status, prestige and looking beautiful, had became possible by fashion. Psycological functions of clothes have surpassed physical functions. Studies show that, dressing up instincts have surpassed the veiling instincts. Most of the time, dressing of individuals tells us more than they can or want to say. This study investigates human's psychology and basis of cloth designing. In the first part, the importance of aesthetic pleasure in people's clothing preferences, connection between aesthetic and psychology, concepts of taste and beautiful, beautiful dressing and pyscological effects of color were investigated. In the second part, physical and pyschological functions of clothing, psychological and sociological aspects of fashion topics were attempted to be explained. In the last section, factors between psychology and fashion were examined. How important events in history of fashion affects women's psyhcology, mass media and cultural factors, and finally the effect of personality traits on psychological aspects and clothing choices were examined.
