Abstract (EN)

In this study, both First and Second Laws of Thermodynamics are employed to take into account the quantity and quality of energy.Energy and exergy analyses applied using experimental data obtained from a four stroke, four cylinders, naturally aspirated, having 1800 rpm direct-injected diesel engine using different fuels. Air and fuel flow rates, engine speed, emissions, relevant temperatures are needed to be able to perform the first and second law of thermodynamics. With the use of these data and balances of energy and exergy rates for the control volume, 1st and 2nd law (energy and exergy) efficiencies related with quantity and quality were determined for various fuels. All results were compared with each other to determine fuel effect on energetic and exergetic performance. In conclusion, It was determined that diesel fuel showed better energetic and exergetic performance than both biodiesels of cotton and soybean.
