Abstract (EN)
High wear-resistant castings are generally manufactured in foundries and this process requires a complex engineering knowledge. Special processes are used in the production of high wear-resistant materials, which significantly increase the wear resistance of the materials. High manganese steels are also a group of materials with high wear resistance that are produced using these processes and high engineering expertise. The cast high manganese steel parts have very high impact and wear resistance. With the advancement of technology, the need for materials with even higher impact and wear resistance is increasing day by day. The high manganese steels (GX120Mn12) produced by the casting method, also known as Hadfield steels, have a short service life as they deteriorate, melt, crack, and break on their surfaces when exposed to long periods of impact and high temperatures. Products that have expired must be replaced. This process (regular maintenance and part replacement) causes time loss and excessive cost for businesses. In this study, ten different samples will be produced using a different process with the sand casting method. Therefore, in accordance with the purpose of this study; A kind of composite material was produced by adding master alloy "Al5Ti1B" to manganese steel materials produced by sand mold casting method, thereby improving wear resistance.Spectral analysis, Vickers hardness testing and analysis, and wear value analysis will be performed on each sample. In addition, changes in the material's internal structure will be examined using metal microscopy and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). In the microstructure, it was observed that the main phase consisted of the austenite phase and the pearlite phase. It was determined that carbide compounds precipitated on the grain boundaries were formed. With the addition of Al5Ti1B, different results were obtained in hardness values, the maximum hardness was obtained as 272.56, and it was observed that the wear resistance of the materials improved.
