Abstract (EN)
Thermoluminescnce characteristics for natural calcite sample has been investigated in this study after irradiated by beta source for dose level from 2.4 Gy to 2.3 kGy. Computer glow curves deconvolution (CGCD) and Peak shape (PS) methods are used to estimate E (activation energy), s (attempt-to-escape frequency factor) and b (kinetic order). Calcite sample which used in this study where collected from DOHUK city – north of Iraq show two peaks follow Beta irradiation for dose levels which were applied in this study, peak 1 at 189 0C and peak 2 at 280 0C. Benefits of studying dose response and fading are to measure irradiation dosimetry and archeological dating. Calcite sample was irradiated and stored in dark box at room temperature and read out, after three weeks peak 1 completely disappeared, after 1 hour of stored peak 1 down to half of original intensity value, this means that this sample loses radiation fairly quickly.
