Abstract (EN)
Today, television is an important part of our daily life. The new generationInternet Protocol Television (IPTV) are interacting with user while streaming.IPTV is managed by end user. In this study, some basic terms about IPTV, thesoftware and hardware of IPTV, protocols and video compression techniquesfor IPTV are investigated. The network technologies for IPTV and a Home ofQuality (HoQ) evaluation for IPTV have been investigated in details.In this study, different protocols have been tested and compared extensively. Tosimulate protocols, Network Simulator 2 (ns2) has been used. Differentmulticast protocols have been tested and experimental results obtained forpacket loss rate, jitter, number of forwarded packet and number ofsent/received packet.
