Abstract (EN)

In near future it is expected that internet Networks will raplaced by IPv6 and the most of the internet traffic will be used by real time applications. In real time applications, the quality of service (QoS) is very important. The congestion is one of the factors that adversely affect the QoS. Package loss, end-to-end delay and jitter are the important criteria of QoS. Due to its scalability and simplicity the differentiated services (DiffServ) model is widely used. To improve QoS DiffServ is a system that exhibits different behaviors according to the priority values of the packages (dscp). In this thesis two different DiffServ queuing model are developed. Multi Criteria Priority Queuing (MCPQ) which is the one of these, performs packet priority, packet size and the packet waiting time criteria with Analytical Hierarchical Process (AHP) decision mechanism. Second queuing model, which is developed in this thesis and called Multi Criteria Priority RED Queuing (MCPRQ), is realized by using MCPQ with RED active queuing management algorithm. MCPQ and MCPRQ are tested over various scenarios on IPv6 heterogeneous test networks developed on OMNeT++ Simulator. It is compared with widely used queuing structures. The results show that the MCPQ gives successful performances with low packet loss on mid-density Networks while MCPRQ is successful with low average latency on high density networks.
