Abstract (EN)
Iraq is a country located in the Middle East that has been the site of many wars in the past. As a result, the Iraqi people have experienced the destructive effects of war firsthand. Therefore, Iraqi media has always given war news a prominent place. The Russian-Ukrainian war, which began in 2022, has also resonated widely in Iraqi media. Although this war does not directly affect Iraq, the Iraqi people are closely following the humanitarian crisis created by the war and how regional security is being threatened. This study aims to examine war news in the Iraqi media. The study examines how the Russian-Ukrainian war, which began in February 2022, was covered in the Al-Zaman and Al-Sabah newspapers published in Iraq. In this study, a review of the news articles of two newspapers related to the war will be conducted. By examining the titles and texts of the news articles, it is aimed to reveal how the war was represented in the Iraqi media and to identify similarities and differences in the presentation of the news articles.
