Abstract (EN)

The "Nuclear Energy Program" that Iran has been conducting without knowledge of the international community and organizations was aimed at producing nuclear weapons. In 2002 its implementation was revealed to the world by an opposing organization within the country. As a result, the United Nations (UN) and major global powers started placing continuous and comprehensive embargoes and sanctions to impact the political, economic and commercial spheres. In 2005, as a result of long negotiations between Iran and the so called P5+1 countries (US, UK, France, Russia, China + Germany) a nuclear agreement that limited Iran's "Nuclear Energy Program" and in return for this gradually removes economic sanctions and embargoes that had been applied to this country for many years was signed. However, with the recent escalation of tensions between the US-Iran-Israel and the withdrawal of the US from the mentioned treaty, Iranian decision-makers have stated that they will be able to return to the nuclear program before the treaty again. These developments, on the one hand, are likely to change the current status quo, on the other hand causing regional and global concerns about Iran to rise again. In this study, the Iranian "Nuclear Energy Program" was examined from its implementation to date and was assessed with regards to international law. the effects (political, economic and security) of Iran possessing nuclear weapons have been presented from the perspective of the regional and western players.
