Abstract (EN)
Workflow is concerned with the automation of procedures where documents, information or tasks are passed between participants according to a defined set of rules to achieve, or contribute to, an overall business goal. Workflow management systems are composed of a graphical workflow definition tool for workflow design and a workflow engine to manage and enact this workflow. Some of the major problems about workflow management systems are having extreme relations between system and processes, not making changes on system possible too much and having to modify system for every new designed process. The goal of this thesis is not only to develop a well defined workflow management system but also to provide features for increasing flexibility and expandability and minimizing the relation between system and processes to achieve using same workflow management system in different real life applications without modifying any features. The result of this work is a workflow management system that any workflow process can be designed and run without modifying any features. Keywords: Workflow management system, flexibility, expandabil
