Abstract (EN)

In this thesis, Industry 4.0 applications were investigated in terms of occupational safety in an underground mining operation. The study consists of three main stages. First stage; The effects of the machines-equipment used in the enterprise and considered to be within the scope of Industry 4.0 in terms of working principles and occupational safety were examined. In the second stage, the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) method was applied to determine the issues that caused the occurrence of work accidents in the underground mining activities of the enterprise. In the method used, the Decision Matrix (CR<0.1 consistency index) value of 0.0468<0.1 was obtained and the result was found to be consistent. According to this result, The root causes of work accidents are listed as follows; K5 (Material Falling), followed by K4 (Excessive Confidence), K1 (Carelessness), K3 (Machinery Use) and K2 (Maintenance and Repair). Finally, quantitative research was conducted to measure the awareness of the employees of Industry 4.0 applications in terms of occupational safety. As a result of the research, the effects, positive aspects, problems and solution suggestions of Industry 4.0 technologies were tried to be determined.
