Abstract (EN)

The aim of this thesis is to reveal the effect of business intelligence dashboards on managerial decisions. In line with this purpose, it is aimed to examine a business that actively uses the business intelligence dashboard tool in business activities. In the study, the qualitative research process was followed to provide detailed information about the solution of the main and sub-problems. The case analysis model was chosen as the research model. The universe of the study consisted of the X Case Enterprise operating in Kocaeli. In the study, the criterion sampling method, which is one of the types of purposeful sampling method, was used to collect the necessary data. The criterion sample consisted of employees of the production department of Case Business X. The selected working group was limited to five participants, but was chosen from strategic, tactical and operational level managers of the enterprise. In the study, unstructured observation technique and semi-structured interview technique were used as data collection techniques. The observation technique used in the study was carried out in the form of "unattended observation"; The interview technique was carried out as "semi-structured" in terms of the method of application, and as both "individual" and "focus group" interviews according to the number of participants. Five semi-structured interviews and two unstructured observations were conducted to collect data. 40% of the 58 interview questions prepared for the purpose of data collection were adapted from the relevant literature , and 60% of the problems were prepared by the advisory faculty member and the researcher union. All data collected from primary and secondary data sources in the thesis study were analyzed with content analysis and descriptive analysis methods. In the study , descriptive analysis was used as a support for content analysis. An inductive approach was followed throughout the entire data analysis process . As a result of the analysis of the data, 4 themes, 11 categories and 70 codes were reached. When the themes of "business structure", "key performance indicator", "instrument panel" and "influence on managerial decisions", all sub-categories of these themes and codes that emerged during the analysis process were associated with the subjects and concepts in the conceptual framework, a high literature agreement was detected. As a result of the study, it was revealed that the dashboards were used effectively in the decision process of the managers in the case company X. This effect has been evaluated as an output of correctly designed, created and commissioned instrument panels with the right information content. In the enterprise, it has been seen that the instrument panels work like a detector in detecting errors and points that need improvement.
