Abstract (EN)

In this research, atmospheric pollen, spore numbers and varieties of Iskenderun district of Hatay between October 2019 / September 2020 were determined using the gravimetric method and the Durham tool. The preparations were placed in the Durham vehicle and collected at the same time each week. Atmospheric pollen and spore amounts of the Iskenderun district were determined with the preparations placed in the Durham vehicle as cm² area unit, weekly, monthly period, and the data were presented in graphs and tables. During the one-year study, a total of 22810 pollens (pollen/m³) were identified from 53 different taxa, 24 of which are tree/woody, 1 Poaceae and 28 other herbaceous plants. It was seen that 62.27% of the total pollen amount belonged to tree/woody taxa, 15.7% to Poaceae, 22.03% to other herbaceous taxa. At the end of a one-year study, 14,209 (pollen/m³) woody pollen, 3576 (pollen/m³) poaceae and 5025 (pollen/m³) herbaceous pollen were detected in one cubic meter of air. It was observed that the pollen density reached the highest level in March, April, May and June. In the atmosphere, respectively, Poaceae (15.69%), Pinaceae (13%), Cupressaceaea (10.35%), Rutaceae (6.19%), Rosaceae (5.69%), Salicaceaea (4.84%), Asteraceaea (4.28%), Rhamnaceae (3.51%), Oleaceae (3.29%), Fabaceae (2.68%), Moraceaea (2.54%), Aceraceae (2.53%), Boraginaceae. It has been determined that there are pollens belonging to their families (2.24%). In addition, a total of 5417 species (spores/m³) were identified in the local atmosphere, of which 22.78% were Alternaria, 17.91% Cladosporium, 15.30% Drechslera, 11.08% Ustilago taxon. The detected fungal spores constitute 19.19% of the total pollen and spores. As a result of the statistical analysis, it was determined that average temperature, relative humidity, wind speed and sunshine duration generally had a positive effect on the total pollen and spore count, while precipitation had a negative effect. With this aeropalynological study carried out in Iskenderun district, it is aimed to help in the diagnosis of allergic diseases caused by pollen in the pollination periods of the surrounding plants and in the related treatments.
