Abstract (EN)

As a dynamic science, economics is always in a state of change and development. Islamic economics, whose foundations date back to the Prophet' era and began to take shape in the 20th century, is an economic system that emerged in acccordance with the conditions and requirements of the period. Islamic economics is not based on a gendered source, it continues to be a male-dominated economic system. Within the scope of the thesis consisting of four chapters, the first chapter deals with the position of women in modern economic thought. In the second part of the study, the position of women in the context of Islamic economics is discussed. In the third, it is given a place to the perspective of Islam on women's work. In the fourth chapter, the studies conducted in the field were examined by reviewing the literature. Subsequently, 558 studies obtained from the Web of Science database were analyzed through the VOSviewer program and the data obtained were visualized. The results of the study show that the position of women in Islamic economic thought, considering the principles of Islam, is quite decent in theory, but remains secondary in practice. In addition to this, when we look at the place of Muslim women in working life, it is seen that women, who worked in many fields during the Prophet's time, are kept in the background by Muslim men in today's world by putting religion forward. This is one of the reasons for the economic backwardness of Muslim countries.
