The article of the Sheikh al-Mufîd Awâ'il al-Maqâlât in termsofthe history of Islamic sects

Here, we tried to mention the phases of Shia went through since the formation of it, then the life of Shaykh alal-Mufîd and charecteristics of his period briefly. Because our thesis is translation oriented, we didn't give wide coverage to other subjectd. We tried to tell the characteristics of the period, the new states, especially Buyids, resultant of the Abbasid State's regression. What kind of effects the establisments of Buyids has on Baghdad's structure in that period and the relations of these with Shi's are also important; because it is undoubtedly this period when the Imâmites is the most brilliant and efficient in Shia private. Mufîd has grown in an intellectual atmosphere found an opportunity to be closly interested in not only Shi'ite Imâmiyya but also the opinios of other sects especially Mu'tazila in Baghdad. He has been agree with some opinions, in some of their opinions he has developed seperate ideas. While being said that he was impressed by Mu'tazila, in our opinion this response is his effort of rather then familiarising Mu'tazila and Imamita like Nawbakhti, disciminating with certain lines between Mu'tazila and Imamiyya. When e study the Awâ'il al-Maqâlât, we will already see the i'tigad subjects Mufîd is disagree with Mu'tazila and the other factions or the subjects he is agree with them. Not only he has stayed in understanding based on akhbar like Shi'ite scholars before himself, but also has adopted the way based on reason like some after himself.
