Abstract (EN)
This study focuses on the unique place of the Taliban movement, which came to power for the second time in Afghanistan in August 2021, in the tradition of Islamic fundamentalism. The first part of the study analyses the relationship between Islam and politics from a historical perspective. In the second part, the course of fundamentalism in the history of Islam is analysed. In the third part, the Taliban movement is compared with organisations such as the Muslim Brotherhood, Al-Qaeda and ISIS and its differentiating aspects are revealed. In the study, the historical origins of fundamentalism, the formation of its theo-political foundations, intellectual breaking points and the differentiating aspects of fundamentalist movements are analysed.
