Abstract (EN)
Within the process from the beginning of life to the present day, the woman has become a building stone that adds value to life that provides the continuity of life in each respect. It is impossible to talk about the continuity of life where there is no woman. And woman has been seen synonymous with nature for the reason of her fertility, creativity. In this study, we tried to give information about the previous Turkish epics from Islam primarily by taking advantage of the historical sources of "The Type of Women in Pre-Islamic Turkish Epics". Then we explained the place of the woman and her significance in the old Turkish culture in the light of historical sources and examinations. We have seen how high statue a woman has in Turkish society in the period before Islam. We also analyzed the place, value of the ancient Turkish woman in social, political, economic and religious life in the context of epics that she'd light on the deeply rooted history of the Turkish society by studying epic text sand historical sources. Inthepre-IslamicTurkish society and culture, it is a remarkable feature that the woman in her culture is in a very respectable place as a daughter, wife and mother. It is another remarkable matter that the woman is active in the social life outside the family, is free and sees great value. In ancient Turks, women have found their place in the political and economic life as much as men, have influenced with their speech and passed judgment. In fact, state affairs have been deemed invalid without the involvement of women. Within the social life, woman has always attracted attention with her beauty, care, clothing elegancy and delicacy and has set a model for other nations. The pioneering style of the old Turkish woman has led to the formation of a Turkish fashion even in contemporary nations. At that time, we see how women have rights and authorities beyond the age of law when it comes to legal rights. In economic life, we see that the woman who is as active and productive as men is hallowed in religious life because of her fertility. We understand from all these studies how exalted a woman is in the old Turkish society, how valuable she is in all stages of life. Keywords: Woman, Epic, Pre-Islamic Turkish Culture.
