Abstract (EN)
Fatal accidents may occur in hydroelectric power plants due to sudden changes in operating conditions (sudden opening and closing of flow control valves) or overheating of the generator. The risks that cause the accident should be identified in advance and necessary precautions should be taken or the adequate technologies should be used. In the scope of this thesis, field studies show that using only Finne Kinney method is not sufficient for the assessment of accident risks in hydroelectric power plants. It is suggested that using ISO 31000 risk management and Finne Kinney method together can lead to assess accident risks in hydroelectric power plants more accurately and necessary precautions can be taken.
