A comparison of urban transformation efforts by district municipalities in İstanbul

Urban transformation is a process that helps the unused areas of cities to be reused, the structures to be strong against natural disasters, and the urbanization and adaptation of the people. However, it should be added that the urban transformation process is quite complex. In this process, many disciplines work simultaneously. There is also a need for legal regulations. It is important to comply with the objectives of urban transformation in the transformed areas. As a matter of fact, under some conditions, these regions can turn into rent areas. In this study, the problem of urban transformation, which is an important agenda topic in Turkey, was handled and an examination of Güngören, Bayrampaşa and Kadıköy, where were transformed. In the research, it has been determined that green areas are reduced in the urban transformation process, the infrastructure has not been arranged in these areas, and because of this it can be seen that new problems may arise in the near future due to the new dense population, The local people in the transformed areas had to migrate to other places and new buildings turn into very expensive residences, and an environment of rent is formed.
