Comparing the volatile oils and liquid extracts of helichrysum italicum (ROTH) guss. don. plant which is cultivated in Istanbul Silivri and Izmir Menemen area.

We compare with the yield of volatile oils of Helichrysum italicum (Roth) G. Don plant that have been cultivated at the same time in Izmir Menemen and Istanbul Silivri. According to the results yield of volatile oils by hydrodistilation from flower part of Helichrysum italicum (Roth) G. Don is found to be 0,15 % for Izmir/Menemen area, from aerial part 0,20 % yield of Helichrysum italicum (Roth) G. Don by hydrodistilation. The yield of volatile oils of Helichrysum italicum (Roth) G. Don plant that have been cultivated in Istanbul Silivri by hydrodistilation from flower part of is 0,04. While that 0,05 % yield was obtained from the aerial part of Helichrysum italicum (Roth) G. Don. by hydrodistilation. According to the yield analysis of volatile oils, Helichrysum italicum (Roth) G. Don that is cultivated in Izmir Menemen is higher than the one cultivated in Silivri/İstanbul. Also, comparision of the results with those of the previous studying showed that the same results. We analysed the components of Helichrysum italicum (Roth) G. Don by GC/MS method. Helichrysum italicum (Roth) G. Don plant cultivated in Izmir Menemen contains α-pinene ve himachalene and italidion (I+II+III) mainly. Helichrysum italicum (Roth) G. Don plant cultivated in Istanbul Silivri contains neryl acetate, α-cedrene, guaiol, α-eudesmol and β-eudesmol. Also analysed the total phenolic and flavanoid components of Helichrysum italicum (Roth) G. Don plant and found that total phenolics percantage is between 0,01 % 0,13 % . The total flavanoid components of Helichrysum italicum (Roth) G. Don are between 0,009% and 0,02%. Also antioxidan capacity was determined with DPPH method. According to all the results, the cultivation Helichrysum italicum (Roth) G. Don plant in Izmir Menemen is highly recommended.
