Hysteroscopic findings in İVF-icsi/et failure

Purpose: In this study, it was aimed to detect intrauterine pathologies detected by hysteroscopy performed to the group of patients who had previously performed IVF-ICSI/ET but failed, and to classify and evaluate these pathologies. Settings: Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility Methods and Materials: In this retrospective descriptive study, Hysteroscopy results of 228 primary and secondary infertility patients who applied to the Infertility Policlinic between 01.01.2013 and 31.12.2019, were previously performed IVF-ICS/ET and failed in the outer center or in our clinic, evaluated. Results: When the hysteroscopy results of 228 patients included in the study were evaluated, 97 of the patients (42.5 %) had normal hysteroscopic findings, and 131 (57.5 %) had abnormal hysteroscopic findings. If we examine these abnormal findings, the most frequently observed pathology was found to be endometrial polyp with a rate of 23.1 %. 20.5 % intrauterine synechia, 18.6 % cervical pathology (polyp and defect), 13.5 % cervical stenosis, 10.9 % uterine septum/subseptum, 4.5 % myoma uteri, 3.2 % arcuate uterus, 3.2 % T-shape uterus, 1.9 %, intrauterine infection, and 0.6 % vaginal septum was detected. Conclusions: When the results of this thesis are examined, it is largely similar to the studies evaluated as a result of the literature reviews mentioned in the discussion. Additional investigation of the cause should be performed in patients with implantation failure. Suggested reviews; hysteroscopy, hysterosalpingography, pelvic ultrasonography, karyotype analysis, ovarian reserve and function tests. Treatments to be applied to these patients should be within evidence-based medicine. The goal of treatment is to increase embryo quality and endometrial receptivity. The positive effect of hysteroscopy on IVF is associated with detecting and treating lesions in the endometrial cavity. According to our results and in accordance with the available literature, hysteroscopy detects intrauterine pathologies that are overlooked by other research methods.
