Abstract (EN)

VI ABSTRACT In this study, the imidazolium and pyrrolidinium salts known as ionic liquid were synthesized. Ionic liquids were used as solvent in the photochemical processes and the studies were carried out on the advantages and disadvantages of ionic liquids compared to organic solvents. Synthesized ionic liquids: l-methyl-3-butylimidazolium iodide, l-methyl-3- butylimidazolium bromide, l-methyl-3-butylimidazolium tetrafluoroborate, 1- methyl-3-butylimidazolium bis trifluoro sulfonoimide, tetraethylene glycol bis-(3- methylimidazolium) diiodide, N-methyl-N-butylpyrrolidinium iodide, N-methyl-N- butylpyrrolidinium bromide and N-methyl-N-butylpyrrolidinium tetrafluoroborate. Molecular structure of synthesized ionic liquids was analyzed in IR, UV-VIS and proton NMR spectra and thermal properties of these salts were investigated by using TGA (thermal gravimetric analysis), DSC (differential scanning calorimetry) data. In study which the ionic liquids were used as solvent in photochemical processes, especially; the photochemical properties of immobilized photosensitizor dyes in sol- gel matrix in ionic liquids were investigated and the reactions in the heterogeneous phase which some photoreactions were occurred by ionic liquids were carried out. Keywords: Ionic liquid, Fluorescence emission, sol-gel, Fluorescence quenching
