Abstract (EN)

In this study, some coins from Hellenistic Period which is currently kept in the storage of İzmir Archaeology Museumis examined. This examination conducted in the museum in cludes 68 different coins minted in different regions and ancient cities. Themajority of the coins was brought to the museum by donations or court orders. The coins found during excavations are not included in this study. The coins are classified according to their types and the cities where they were unearthed and examined with the help of international catalogs and sources. In this study, It has been identified that most of the coins were minted in the cities in Ionia (Ephesos, Magnesia ad Meandrum, Miletos, Myous, Smyrna, Kolophon). In addition to this, the study also in cludes the coins from another neighboring and farther regions such as Aiolis (Kyme, Larissa, Elaia, Tisna, Boinie), Karia (Laodikeia, Kos, Rhodos), Mysia (Pergamon), Lydia (Sardeis), Kilikia (Korykos, Seleukia am Kalykandos), Phrygia (Apameia), Thrakia (Neonteikhos), Bithynia (Kios), Troas (AlexandriaTroas, Birytis), Makedonia (Alexander the Great Coins).
