Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to determine the patients who have operation in different breed, age and sex who have cerebrospinal diseases in İzmir Region. The aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic methods and postoperative success rates. Neurological cases without operation indications were excluded from the study. The study material consisted of 26 cats and 26 dogs with cerebrospinal diseases with surgical indication for veterinary clinics located in İzmir region. The most common nervous system problem in cats and dogs was spinal cord injuries (50%) resulting from traffic accidents with 26 cases, followed by spinal cord injuries as a result of falling from height (30.76%). It was observed that the incoming cases were mostly owned animals (61.53%). In this study, preoperative neurological pain and response ratings of the patients were evaluated and postoperative returns were examined in a 3-month period. In the treatments, dorsal laminectomy and decompression surgery was performed and it was determined that the operation of the advanced cases was difficult. As a result, in this retrospective study conducted to determine the profile of neurosurgery cases in Izmir region, most of the diseases were associated with the spinal canal and the absence of severe pain and sensitivity was found to be proportional to the postoperative negative return.
