Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study was to effect of candesartan for ischemia reperfusion injury in isolated rat heart with cardioplegic arrest. For inducing I/R injury, isolated rat hearts were subjected to 40 min global ischemia and 30 min reperfusion. Hearts were perfused at a constant pressure (100 cmH2O) of Langendorff apparatus throughout the experiments. Cardiplegic solution was given prior to ischemia and 20 min after the onset of ischemia single and with drug. Recovery of post-ischemic contractile function was assessed by the left ventricular developed pressure (LVDP), left ventricular end diastolic pressure (LVEDP), and the rates of pressure development (+dp/dt) and pressure decay (-dp/dt).Our results demonstrate that; adding angiotensin receptor blocker candesartan in cardioplegic solution which is used during cardiac surgery doesn?t outperforme.
