Abstract (EN)
Jackson Pollock is one of the important artists of the Abstract Expressionist movement with the dripping technique he created. Symbolic representations have also been included in his art with the inclusion of the effects of Native American culture in his life. Indians; They lived in areas such as Cherokee, Cheyenne, Comanche, Chickasaw, Creek Choctaw, Pawnee, Osage. Cultural items belonging to the Indians began to take place in museums after the 19th century. Pollock observes the effects of indigenous culture by living in states such as Wyoming, Phoenix Arizona, Chico California Wyoming, Phoenix Arizona, both during museum visits and because of the geographical exploration project his family participates in. This interaction is also reflected in his art. In addition to the experiences he transferred to his art, there are also symbols. Symbols are a symbolic language open to interpretation. Symbols such as eyes and triangles come to the fore in Native American culture and symbolic effects. Works of art are important documents that prove the existence of a country and provide transfer to other cultures. In the process of revealing works of art, the artist is affected by developments in the fields of politics, belief, economy, culture and technology. In this study, these affected areas are also mentioned, "Bird", "Birth", "Male and Famale", "Totem Lesson I", "Totem Lesson II", "She-Wolf", "The Moon- Woman Cuts the Circle" and "Guardians of The Secret" The effects of Native American culture and the meanings of the symbols in his paintings will be evaluated for his paintings.
