Abstract (EN)
This study includes the formal and technical analysis of the important Baroque era composer Johann Sebastian Bach's (1685-1750) sonata BWV 1029 for viola da gamba and harpsichord, written in his Cöthen years. In the first chapter of this study the general characteristics of the Baroque era and information about the life of the composer are presented. In the second chapter, the history of the viol family, in which viola da gamba is a member, its types and the historical information in the light of the sources of how these instruments should be played are explained. The third part contains general information about editions, the formal and technical interpretations of the composer's BWV 1029 sonata, with the determined cello editions. The issue has never been addressed before the periodic and instrumental axis in master's and doctoral theses in Turkey. In addition, the Turkish sources related to the subject are also very limited. With this study, it is aimed to create a Turkish resource for the related people.
