An evalutation of Uçurtma Mevsimi story book of Kaan Murat Yanık, in terms of readability

The concept of a readability interacts on readerships success achieved by using material associated with all printed materials, which are the sum of all the elements. In this research the stories of Uçurtma Mevsimi book of Kaan Murat Yanık was studied in terms of readability.Thirty stories of this book were read by lecturers. Ten suitable stories were chosen by lecturers. Stories sentences, words and syllables counts were determined. After the determination of the average length of a syllable words and average sentence length in words Ateşman's Readablity Formula were used. After this stage the readability level of these stories were determined. The results of the stories that were examined in this book is: one story is in easy level, eight stories are in intermediate level and one story is in hard level.
