Abstract (EN)

In this study, some physical and chemical properties of Kabalar Pond (Kastamonu) were investigated. For this purpose water samples were collected at monthly intervals between January 2014-December 2014 and necessary measurements and analysis have been made. Water temperature, pH, salinity, electrical conductivity and dissolved oxygen were measured in situ. Total hardness, nitrate, phosphate, sulfate and COD were determined in water quality laboratory. The data obtained from analysis have been expressed in tables and figures according to mounths and stations. Water temperature and pH values were minimum in january (7.1oC and 8.02oC) and maximum in october (25.9oC and 8.54oC); salinity was minimum in february and in march (0.04 mg/L), maximum in october (0.14 mg/L); electrical conductivity value was minimum in march (140.72 µS/cm) and maximum in october (297.1 µS/cm); dissolved oxygen value was minimum in september (8.72 mg/L) and the maximum in may (11.66 mg/L); total hardness was minimumin january (260.72 mg/L) and maximum in september (318.34 mg/L); phosphate and nitrate values were minimum in march (0.097 and 3.2 mg/L) and maximum, in september (0.824 and 4.82 mg/L); sulfates value was minimum in december (66.1 mg/L) and maximum in july (205.13 mg/L) and chemical oxygen demand value was minimum in march (2.98 mg/L) and maximum in october (10.4 mg/L).
