Review of Kâdî İyâz's work named Meşarikü'l-envâr alâ sihâhi'l-âsâr

Andalusia, which hosted Islamic civilization for approximately 8 centuries, is one of the important centers of knowledge where many hadith studies were conducted. Qadi Iyad (d. 544-1149) is one of the important scholars who was born and raised in this civilization and produced works in many fields. One of Qadi Iyad's important works in the field of hadith, "Mashariq al-Anwar ala Sahih al-Athar," has demonstrated his authority in the science of hadith. In this work, he addressed many topics, including the peculiarities of hadith and the accuracy of hadith transmission. This study introduces Qadi Iyad's aforementioned work with examples. Our study consists of 3 parts, excluding the introduction. The introduction section will briefly touch upon the political situation during Qadi Iyad's era. In the first section, brief information is provided about Qadi Iyad's life, his scholarly personality, his teachers, and his works. In the second section of the study, descriptive information about the author's work "Mashariq al-Anwar ala Sahih al-Athar" is provided; including its classification system, manuscript copies of the work, sources used, and the authorizations he received along with his teachers who taught him "Muwatta" and "Sahihayn." In this context, the classification system adopted by the author is taken as the basis. In the third section, the hadith issues addressed in the work are processed under certain headings, with examples from the work. In addition, the different narrations of these three works that reached him and the differences between these narrations are also examined under this heading.
