Abstract (EN)
Cultured; From the perspectives of societies, lives, feelings and thoughts, and from the point of view of these phenomena, students are a set of values that are continuous and unstable. The culture of a certain region, on the other hand, contains a piece of the values of the society to which it belongs, as well as its own unique elements. In addition to these, the connection of the local people with technology, literacy rate, socio-economic status and some extraordinary situations they experience also affect the culture of the region. One of these extraordinary situations is epidemic diseases. Some practices that are part of the culture cannot be fulfilled because it partially breaks the bond with people, adding different codes to that culture. However, cultural elements do not change in a day as they cannot be forgotten in a day. The phenomenon that allows it to be forgotten or changed is whether cultural elements are transferred to life and whether they are maintained. In our study, elements of folk culture belonging to Kadirli district of Osmaniye province and its surroundings were investigated, and the place and importance of these elements in Turkish culture was tried to be conveyed. These elements are transitional periods including practices and ceremonies related to birth, marriage, death, circumcision and military service; folk beliefs, folk healing, children's games and eating and drinking culture, folk calendar, folk meteorology, hospitality customs, handicrafts, clothing culture and folklore elements related to traditional professions. Folk literature products were not included in the study. The research was carried out in the villages of Sumbas district, together with the district of Kadirli, its neighborhoods and villages. The study was supported by both written and oral sources. This information was obtained by field research and source scanning methods, participant and unattended observation and interview techniques.
