Abstract (EN)
The thesis was carried out by cataloging a group of figured ring stones in the Depot of the Kahramanmaraş Archaeological Museum. Among 120 ring stones registered in the Kahramanmaraş Museum Inventory, the ring stones found in the Museum Archaeological Works Store were selected and a preliminary examination was made on them and a master thesis topic was determined in order to introduce 52 pieces to the Archeology Science World. Necessary permission was obtained from Kahramanmaraş Museum Directorate for thesis study. 52 ring stones subject to the study are in inventory of Kahramanmaraş Museum adopted by means of purchase. In this study, identification, dating and measurements of ring stones were made by comparison with similar samples and catalogs were prepared by determining stone types. There are gods, goddesses, scenes about daily life, animal figures, plant figures, depictions, mythological creature figures and inscriptions on the ring stones examined. Most of the ring stones in the study were dated to the Roman Age and some to the Hellenistic Age and one to the Bronze Age.Ring stones, sard, agate, carnelien, chalcedony, sardoniks, jasper and materials such as natural stone were used. Glass was used outside the stone. Since the ring stones are an integral part of the ring which is a type of jewelry, in this study, the definition of the jewelry, the historical process, the definition of the rings, the historical process, the types of usage, the types of stones used in the ring stones, usage, construction techniques are mentioned.In addition, information about the location, historical geography and Kahramanmaraş Museum of Kahramanmaraş is presented since it is obtained from Kahramanmaraş region.
