Abstract (EN)
The aim of this study is to collect and register detailed information from archeological areas and monuments in Kahta district of Turkey. In order to determine the location, present conditions and current use, each site was visited and collected information was entered into GIS, in order to provide effective use and detailed analysis pf the collected data.Information from 5 registered and 25 unregistered archeologically and culturally important cites in Kahta district had been collected and digitized into GIS environment in order to create the Kahta District Cultural Information system. During the visits to the cites it was discovered that majority of the archeological cites were abused or misused. As a result this study will provide detailed information for conserving and renovating the cultural and archeological assets in the region.
