Investigation of the effect of calcium alkyl benzene sulfonates on grease lubricant

In heavy industry, greases are used under harsh conditions such as water, pressurized water, temperature and mechanical effects. Nowadays, developing technology has also led changes in manufacturing technologies. In line with these developments, efficient results could not be obtained in lubrication with standard lubricating greases. This situation caused demands for products with superior performance. Especially calcium sulfonate complex greases, which are used in systems with heavy and difficult conditions such as iron, steel, mining and cement, come to the forefront day by day with their superior performance properties. In this thesis, the effect of calcium alkyl benzene sulfonates, that used in the production of calcium sulfonate complex greases, on the final product is investigated. In this study, it is aimed to obtain a product that will provide the most suitable features for the place of use and exhibit the highest performance under the conditions specified in international product standards. In the study, calcium sulfonates with different total base number, calcium and mineral oil ratios were used, keeping all other parameters fixed.
